The former deaconess residence was designed by architect Per Grieg and was completed in time for the hospital’s opening in 1940. For many years, the building served as a home for retired deaconesses. It was later renamed Regine’s Guest House, after the first director, Regine Waage.
Both hospitals are just a few minutes away from the guesthouse. Haraldsplass Gjestehus therefore the perfect choice whether you’re visiting someone, meeting someone, or working here for a short or extended period. At the same time, the area is just a few kilometers from downtown Bergen, and the hiking trails in the city’s mountains are right on your doorstep.
It’s easy to get to and from Haraldsplass Gjestehus, whether you’re driving or using public transportation. Buses and the light rail stop just 150 meters down the road, and there’s a parking garage right nearby. There’s also a store with extended hours within easy walking distance of the guesthouse.

Hi. We’re very happy with our stay. The room was a decent size with a large TV on the wall, a kettle, and coffee and tea. It was really convenient to have a small fridge for some drinks. We were happy with the large kitchen on the first floor, which had all the necessary amenities. The only thing we missed was a small bathroom on the same floor. Having the Bybanen right next door was great. Thank you for having us this time.
